We have another guide on how to tame boars, which you can check out for some general tips and a more detailed walkthrough. In short, you’ll want to find some boars in the wild, sneak up to them, and give them some food. Or, if you’re like me, just get them to attack you and make them follow you back to your base.
How to Breed Boars and Make Piglets in Valheim
You’re going to need at least two boars to make this work. Setup a small pen in your settlement, and lure the boars in there. Ensure there are no campfires, bonfires, hearths, beehives, or other noisy objects nearby, as the boars startle easily. Sneak up to them to avoid scaring them, and drop off some mushrooms, carrots, or berries into the pen every so often.
You should see some hearts pop up over their heads, which will mean they are acclimating to their new home. Repeat this process until the boars are 100% acclimatized, or, in other words, tamed. When you have two tamed boars, keep them happy by feeding and petting them. Avoid disturbing them with loud noises.
The tamed boars will automatically begin making little piggies, which will eventually grow up into adult boars. You should see some pink hearts over your boars’ heads… quite frequently, actually. Make sure to feed them often and keep them happy. Before you know it, you’ll need to expand your enclosure to account for all the new pigs! The process is relatively simple and only requires a bit of food and some patience.
