How to Beat the Bone Zone in Vampire Survivors

Hope you've been drinking your milk.

I’m not sure I’ll ever fully understand the internet’s fascination with skeletons. Not that I don’t love them myself, but you can’t throw a bone without hitting some kind of skeleton media nowadays. If you’re the kind of person who really likes skeletons, though, then allow me to present you with a potentially one-way ticket to… The Bone Zone. Here’s how to beat the Bone Zone in Vampire Survivors.

How to Beat the Bone Zone in Vampire Survivors

The Bone Zone is a special level in Vampire Survivors that you can unlock by unlocking Hyper Mode for any three stages. You can also unlock it by casting the spell “rottingpizza” using the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane. As the name probably tipped you off, the Bone Zone is filled exclusively with skeletons and skeleton-adjacent enemies like Skulls and Goat-Horned Shooters. This might not sound so bad, but there are a few elements complicating matters:

  • Limited Items: The only items that drop in the Bone Zone are gold and experience. No Rosaries, no Orologions, and no Floor Chicken.
  • Enemy Volume: While the majority of the enemies are regular skeletons, there are a lot of them coming from all sides.

First and foremost, the name of the game in the Bone Zone is AOE. Let me say that again louder for the folks in the back: AOE. You’re going to have a lot of enemies coming at you from every direction, and in fairly large groups, so you need powerful, wide-hitting attacks to effectively cull them.

To begin with, you want a character whose starting weapon and abilities reflect this priority. Christine, Porta, Cavallo, and my favorite, Poppea, are all excellent choices for the Bone Zone. Poppea in particular is excellent, since her passive boosts the duration of attacks with lasting effects, which can help to set up safe zones within the carnage.

Speaking of attacks, let’s talk weapons next. Once again, AOE is the order of the day. If you’re using Poppea, Song of Mana is a good start, but you’ll want to supplement it with stuff like Santa Water and King Bible. Alternatively, Cavallo’s passive, which increases the number of projectiles launched by weapons, synergizes great with the Bone (ironically), as well as the Runetracer, Magic Wand, and Lightning Ring. However you go about doing it, you want lots of weapons flying all over the place for as long as possible to keep you from getting overwhelmed.

Due to the lack of Floor Chicken, survivability is also high on the priority list. To this end, passives like Laurel and Pummarola are an absolute must, giving you an extra hit from a shield and gradually replenishing health, respectively. If you’re going for a Cavallo build, the Duplicator is also a smart pick, as it’ll increase the number of projectiles you launch further. If you have it unlocked, Tiragisu will give you some extra breathing room with its free revive, plus more if you level it. If you don’t mind trying something a bit riskier, you can also opt for a combination of Attractorb and Pentagram, the former of which will help you gather experience before the latter erases it.

The bottom line for the Bone Zone is this: lots of AOE, and an impenetrable shell in the middle. You wanna be a veritable turtle, camping out while your weapons and accessories handle the brunt of the work. That’ll really rattle those skeletons something fierce!
