In this article, we will explore how the story of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet ends, so keep in mind that we will have a lot of spoilers ahead.

Choose Your Own Adventure Storyline

The game Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is designed like all of those choose-your-own-adventure games where you go on exploring the world and quests whenever you please. Three unique storylines: Victory Road, Starfall, and Path of Legends have their own individual plots and mechanisms, but in the end, all three need to be completed for the game to be finished.

The lack of a linear story and extra freedom has benefited a lot of players allowing everyone to have their own customized adventure.

Revelations

After the three main storylines are completed, the plot unravels, offering a lot of answers to questions posed during the game. Firstly, you will finally get to visit the Great Crater in the middle of Paldea, called Area Zero, where Pokemon research is being conducted. Professor Turo for Violet (or professor Sada for Scarlet) has been researching in that area and now needs your help to get into the locked Area Zero lab.

You will go into the Crater, and fight different peculiar Pokemon along the way. When reaching deeper levels the professor will send messages that are more and more strange and finally you will see a room in ruins built 80 years ago. This is when the professor reveals that they have been using a time machine to catch Pokemon from the distant past and future and release them into Area Zero (it’s the odd Pokemon that you fought along the way).

Furthermore, there’s additional shocking information. The professor that has been guiding you the whole time isn’t actually the professor but an AI replacement created by the professor and powered by the Tera Crystalis. The real professor died a long time ago in an incident involving Koraidon (or Miraidon). The AI professor is programmed to protect the time machine, but he does become self-aware and realizes that bringing infinite Pokemon into your world will ruin it.

As the professor can’t allow the time machine to be destroyed he fights you in the ultimate Pokemon battle where he uses all kinds of weird Pokemon and ultimately his own Koraidon/Miraidon against you. Once you defeat him in all these battles, he decides to time travel to the distant future and allows you to shut down the time machine.

Arven

Professor’s son, Arven is with you the whole time and breaks down as he realizes that the father he was missing all these years was an AI. Symbolically, he is again abandoned by his father (even though it’s just an AI) which really ramps up the emotions towards the end of this Pokemon journey.
