Is Loki Coming to Fortnite?

The sheer breadth of characters that have cameo’d in Fortnite has gotten to be a tad silly. The Avengers, the Justice League, Master Chief, Kratos, Ryu, Chun-Li; I feel like we’re eventually gonna reach a point where Fortnite crossovers become the new Super Smash Bros. character requests. One particular Marvel mainstay that has a pretty solid chance of making his way to the battle royale is Loki, god of mischief. So, is Loki coming to Fortnite?

Fortnite has had more crossovers with Marvel properties than anyone else, with appearances from all of the Avengers, as well as the X-Men, Deadpool, and Thanos (though my girl Gwenpool got snubbed that one time, which I’m still salty about). Character affiliations and power sets aren’t really a concern; if they’re popular, they can be a Fortnite skin, and I’m hard-pressed to think of any modern Marvel character as popular as Loki. Thanks to his portrayal by the lovable Tom Hiddleston in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, everyone’s got Loki fever, and that fever has only been escalating thanks to the upcoming release of the Loki series coming to Disney+ in June. With that series coming out, it would certainly be timeline for Loki to appear in Fortnite, but if that’s not enough to convince you, we’ve got a little something extra.

Is Loki Coming to Fortnite?

Fortnite leak hunters on Twitter have spotted a very distinctive silhouette in the game’s loading screen, recently tweaked in the v16.50 update.

If you look behind the blue guy on the left, you’ll notice a shadowy figure with a pointy staff and two long, curvy horns. I’m sure if you gave me a day, I could find some other obscure character meeting that description, but off the top of my head, I’m hard pressed to see that as anyone besides Loki.

Epic hasn’t made any announcements yet, but it’s possible they’re waiting until Loki begins streaming on Disney+ to pull the trigger on this one.
