Can You Lose Units in Traning or Skirmishes?

At the start of Fire Emblem Engage, you will be prompted to choose between two game modes – Casual and Classic. Casual mode is created for newcomers and there is no way you can forever lose any unit at any point in time. This is also called permadeath.

On the other hand, permadeath can happen in Classic mode and characters that die won’t be available for battle anymore. Further, if you lose the protagonist, your game will automatically be over.

But, when playing Training or Skirmishes your units are safe both in Casual and Classic mode. Your units won’t be at risk of permadeath and will instead just be knocked out of the fight. Still, this doesn’t mean you should just rush forward in these battles, as the units that survive through it all, in the end, get more XP.
