All New Bosses in Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course DLC – Which Is Hardest?

Good Day for a Swell Battle ... and BEGIN!!

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is finally out! This, of course, means a new rogues gallery of bosses that are sure to inspire incoherent screaming in the direction of your screen. But, who are these enemies, and which among them is the most difficult? That’s the question we’re seeking to answer today.

In addition to new bosses and levels, The Delicious Last Course also marks the debut of the Legendary Chalice as a playable character. Players of the main campaign will remember the Legendary Chalice as an NPC who they defended from a variety of ghouls and ghosties in the Mausoleum levels.

All Bosses in Cuphead’s DLC

  • Glumstone the Giant (Gnome Way Out) is a colossal yeti who goes so far as to swallow the player when things aren’t going their way. This battle seems like a test of endurance and concentration when it comes to surviving the stomach acid. Be sure to keep your eyes on which platform/s have disappeared!!
  • Mortimer Freeze (Snow Cult Scuffle) is a levitating leader of an ice-themed cult. In their second phase, they turn into a living snowman to deliver a new helping of pain. Finally, their third phase sees a second transformation, this time into a gigantic snowflake. There’s a lot to pay attention to with this fight, but as long as you keep your wits about you, it shouldn’t be un-polar-bearable.
  • Esther Winchester (High-Noon Hoopla) is a cow using a portable saloon as a shell, and this is one of those battles that forces the use of the mini-airplane. I have always despised these kinds of levels, and this one is no different as it has you weave your way through many conflicting obstacles.
  • The Howling Aces (Doggone Dogfight) are a team of dogs and, despite the name, this is not a boss that requires use of Cuphead’s mini-airplane. This fight doesn’t hesitate to rotate the screen a number of times, which can decimate your chances if you’re not prepared.
  • The Moonshine Mob (Bootlegger Boogie) is a group of insects and other creepy-crawlies whose fight will have players flipping between a three-tier arena. It appears this fight utilizes new survival mechanics that can trip players up if they’re unprepared. In addition, there is a fakeout knockout towards the end, so keep your wits about you, young Cup!

There are more challenges that take the form of bosses, but these are the highlights. In looking at the five bosses that we covered here, the most difficult in this writer’s opinion is Esther Winchester. She reminds me of Dr. Kahl’s Robot in the main campaign, which I barely beat by the skin of my teeth.
