How to Unlock Toastie in Vampire Survivors

There are a few hidden characters in Vampire Survivors that you may not know how to unlock. The two newest hidden characters are Toastie and Leda. If you’ve read our guide on Exdash, Toastie’s appearance might look familiar to you. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to unlock Toastie in Vampire Survivors.

You’ll want to unlock Exdash since this is a requirement for getting Toastie. The process is fairly straightforward, but you will need to enter the proper button sequence quickly. Once that’s done, you can proceed with our guide to determine what you need to do to get Toastie in Vampire Survivors.

How to Unlock Toastie in Vampire Survivors

Here is how to unlock the Toastie character in Vampire Survivors:

1. Play as Exdash
2. Select the Dairy Plant stage
3. Defeat “Green Death”
4. Press Down + Enter on your keyboard when Toastie pops up

The first step is to play as the Exdash character, another hidden unit in the game. Select Exdash from the character select screen and choose the Dairy Plant stage. 

While playing on Dairy Plant, a secret elite unit has a chance to spawn called Stalker, often referred to as “Green Death.” Green Death can either spawn immediately, at the eight-minute mark, or at the 12-minute mark. The spawn rate looks like this:

• 0 minute – 1% chance to spawn
• 8 minutes – 30% chance to spawn
• 12 minutes – 30% chance to spawn

The chance for Green Death to spawn instantly is about 1%, but it might save you time to keep restarting your game until he finally shows up. Otherwise, you’ll need to play through the stage and risk dying.

You will need to defeat Green Death, which may take a few minutes of your time. When Green Death dies, Toastie will pop up for a brief moment on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. There’s also an audio queue, and it sounds like Toastie says “Panini.” 

When Toastie shows up on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, you have a split second to press Down + Enter on your keyboard. If you’ve timed it properly, some music will begin playing, and that’s how you know you’ve unlocked Toastie.

After that’s done, you can exit the game and go to the character select screen to try out a new character. If you’re having trouble completing this, remember, you only have about a half-second to one-second window to press down and enter, so try to time it perfectly! It helps if you have your right hand on the down and enter keys while you’re fighting the Stalker.

What are Toastie’s bonuses in Vampire Survivors?

Toastie starts with the Peachone weapon, and it has a few interesting passive bonuses. Toastie’s starting stats include:

• -99 Max Health
• -10% Might
• -10% MoveSpeed
• -50% Speed
• -10% Duration
• +10% Cooldown
• +100% Luck
