Best Melee Weapon in Armored Core 6

Who doesn't want to be a blade-wielding robot? Launchers are overrated anyways

With every FromSoftware game comes the debate on the best weapon to use in the game. Whilst build making is not as prominent in this entry compared to Souls games, you will find that each weapon can be matched perfectly with its counterparts, expansions and generator. In order to make the perfect mech however, you need to determine what playstyle works best for you. Are you someone who likes hitting critical shots from afar and moving in to finish the job, to pummel bullets and missiles constantly at your foe to give them no chance to breath, or to be in your enemy’s face 24/7 until they wave that flag of defeat. The melee weapons can be used to complete whatever build you are going for in AC6, but if you are looking for the best of the best, this is Vincent’s pick on the best melee weapon to use in Armored Core 6.

Best Melee Weapon to Use in Armored Core 6

Out of all of the melee weapons in Armored Core 6, we determine PB-033M Ashmead to be the best you can use in the game. Keep in mind however that all of the melee weapons deal a ton of damage due to it having a high-risk, high-reward gameplay where you could easily lose your life or have your EN deplete at a far quicker rate than using missile launchers or pulse rifles. The PB-033M Ashmead deals a 4000+ charge attack that when timed right with enough on your EN Meter to recover from any fumbles, the Ashmead deals massive damage against bosses that should make your fight an easy battle to win. As this is a L-Arm Unit, you can hold whichever R-Unit you fancy based on the EN Load you have. We highly recommend using either a shotgun or rifle going into the handguns (Weapons Bay) so that you can stick to dealing consistent close-ranged damage.

We also recommend opting to use the Assault Armor as this can stun and deal a ton of damage to enemies you are already close to, providing you with a moment to either heal or reposition. This in combination with the Ashmead attacks are lethal. If you do not want to constantly play close to the bosses, opt for a rifle as your primary, making the Ashmead your secondary pick to use with the Pulse Armor, which can be used to get you in close to deal the final blow with massive crit damage.

How to Unlock the Ashmead in AC6

The Ashmead can be unlocked via the Store for 185,000 COAM. You first need to complete Mission 11: Attack the Watchpoint to gain access so that you can purchase this AC Part. This is a great melee weapon to use in AC6 that can be obtained relatively early on in the game. Make sure that you stockpile those OST Chips by completing Arena Missions so that you can upgrade via the OS Tuning Menu by unlocking core expansions and giving your AC more movability with better generators and abilities that promote evasiveness.

That was our recommendation of the best melee weapon to use in Armored Core 6. For more on this game, check out all GJ written articles for AC6 here. Thank you for reading this guide.
