Where to Find a Nergigante Egg in Monster Hunter Stories 2

Where to Find a Nergigante Egg in Monster Hunter Stories 2

While all of Monster Hunter’s monsters are obviously big and intimidating, there are few with the sheer “whoa” power of Nergigante. This colossal spiky beast was the mascot of Monster Hunter World, and while it’s a bit more compact in Monster Hunter Stories 2, it’s no less intimidating. Then again, imagine how awesome it’d be to have this behemoth on your side! Here’s where to find a Nergigante egg in Monster Hunter Stories 2.

Existing monsters cannot be tamed; the only way to obtain one from yourself is to raise it from an egg. This is why one of the preferred methods of obtaining rare monsters in Monster Hunter Stories 2 is to force a monster into retreating, leading you to its den in the process, where you can snag an egg. The Nergigante, however, is an aberrant case, as no matter how much you pummel it, it will never, ever surrender. While there’s a chance it could drop an egg upon defeat, the odds of that aren’t great, so you may have to pursue other methods.

While Nergigante won’t lead you to its den, it does have one… somewhere. Specifically, a Rare-grade Monster Den somewhere in the Terga region. There’s no hard and fast spawn spot; all you can do is explore the region, and if you spot a Rare den, cross your fingers and venture within. If you’re having difficulty finding a Rare den, use fast travel to change the time zone and reset the den spawns. If you’re lucky (relatively speaking), you’ll find a Nergigante standing vigil over a nest full of eggs rife for the taking. If you’re especially lucky, the monstie that hatches from it may have high-quality stats, too.
