You can get the solution to the puzzle from an enemy corpse inside the Ancient Temple. On the second page of the book, you learn that each god embodies a power. Activating the shrines in the correct order relies on the knowledge in the book.

For your convenience, we’ll list the correct order here. If you are not a fan of spoilers, you should exit this page. The correct order of shrines for the Ancient Temple puzzle is as follows:

  1. Amadia: Magic
  2. Tir Cendelius: Blood
  3. Duna: Air
  4. Zorl Stissa: Fire
  5. Xantessa: Mind
  6. Vrogir: Muscle
  7. Rhalic: Earth

Activate the shrines in this order, and the protective shield will dissipate. This task leads to a tough boss fight, which activates after opening the sarcophagus. You will need to defeat The Eternal Aetera and a bunch of Eternal Stalkers.

For the fight, the most straightforward strategy to win is to defeat Aetera as soon as possible. The dogs do a ton of damage, but they are not as big of a threat as Aetera. The Eternal Stalkers also only have 27 magic armor, making them easy to kill for a mage or a spell-heavy character.
