The Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise has been a household name among anime fans for over 20 years now. Since the franchise has always been very popular, there have been several video game adaptations. One of the most recent was Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist. The franchise has grown once again with another video game called Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, which is now available for all consoles.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Goes Free-to-Play
Yesterday, Konami quietly released Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel onto digital storefronts in a move that surprised many since the developers said they would release before the end of winter. The game is of course a trading card game with over 10,000 cards for players to build their decks with.
Because the game is playable on multiple platforms, players will be able to take advantage of the convenient cross-save and cross-platform progression features by using their Konami ID. The game lets players duel each other in tournaments and is accessible to those who are new to the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. Unlike most free-to-play games, Master Duel has a solo mode that guides players through storylines from the various Yu-Gi-Oh! anime.
Because of the free-to-play format, consistent content updates will come to Master Duel although none have been announced yet. At some point, The game be a part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship series. Tournaments will eventually be held for the game as a result. Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is playable on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Steam, the ios App Store, and Google Play.
