For the past month, fans have received consistent updates on WWE 2K22. This makes sense since it will be released next week. Both Modes Will Give Players Hours of Content

Showcase mode has been a part of the WWE games for years. It allows players to recreate iconic WWE matches by completing historical objectives. The focus of this year’s mode is the career of Rey Mysterio, the game’s cover athlete. Previously, it was mentioned that the mode would start in 2005 as opposed to 2002, the year Mysterio debuted in WWE.

The latest Ringside Report has confirmed that the mode will in fact feature his iconic match with Eddie Guerrero at WCW Halloween Havoc 1997. It also showed more gameplay of his matches with Undertaker and Batista. Speaking of gameplay, now cutscenes will blend with match footage allowing players to see how accurate the game is.

MyRise mode has also seen improvements. It is no longer called MyCareer and now features a female campaign as well as the default male campaign. Between both campaigns there are 50 hours worth of content and 1,000 possible matches. These matches will depend on the decisions made by the player as there are several branching storylines that can occur. The storylines can be tackled in any order the player decides.

Players will also have the choice of how they start their career as there are four backgrounds that will affect the created character’s beginning attributes. These backgrounds include indie wrestler, actor, MMA, or pro athlete. Once players start the mode, they’ll be able to choose which show they want to wrestle on. Raw, Smackdown, and NXT can be selected. The mode also has 9 original arenas that can be unlocked and used in exhibition.

WWE 2K22 will be available on March 11. Those who pre-order the Deluxe Edition or the nWo 4-Life Edition can begin playing on March 8.
