Will Wild Hearts Be Free to Play? Answered

Giant creatures are everywhere!

Omega Force’s RPG known as Wild Hearts has been on the rage since its announcement on September 28, 2022. The Monster Hunter-esque open-world experience features ferocious, nature-infused beasts called Kemono known to strike fear in the strongest individuals. The people of Azuma must use an ancient technology, Karakuri, to defeat the formidable creatures to survive in the fantasy world set in feudal Japan.

But how did this technology come into existence? Unfortunately, its origins are long forgotten, and people are struggling to make sense of it. That’s where you come in! Grab up to two friends or go it alone on a journey to harness the power of the Karakuri and defeat the Kemono once and for all.

This adventure sounds beyond epic, but it has to come at a hefty price, right?

Will Wild Hearts Be Free to Play? Answered

Wild Hearts will not be free. The game will retail for $69.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Epic Games, Steam, and the EA app starting February 17, 2023.

That price may make your wallet cringe, but there’s also good news. Apparently, the developers will release a free post-launch DLC! The Executive Producer of Wild Hearts, Lewis Harvey, disclosed the information in an “Ask Me Anything” post on Reddit. His exact words were, “All post launch contents will be free, including new Kemono and more!”

Harvey also implied that there wouldn’t be any in-game spending after the DLC’s release. The Executive Producer stated, “[the company doesn’t] have any plans to feature MTX” (“MTX” is the abbreviation for microtransactions). Hopefully, Omega Force will follow through with this plan.

There isn’t much detail about the post-launch content itself, but we should expect to learn more about it soon.
