Where to Discover New Ingredients in Potionomics

Ingredients includes everything you need when brewing up a storm in Potionomics. Here's where you can find them!

Potionomics is a brewing-based deck building game. In order to get to the potion making and making it worthwhile in the long run there is always another element standing in players’ way that will go into how they can obtain and create formulas. You will need the necessary recourses when bringing anything to the pot (cauldron). Before whipping out either the recipes book or even improvising, you will be needing a plethora of ingredients to put towards creating each and every potion.

Why getting these ingredients are important goes without saying – no potion can be whipped up without the right ingredient magimins. Noting down which magimins of each ingredient will pave you to success, but before really going full steam ahead in going all hands-on deck, you need the right resources on you to avoid failing potions. Here’s what you need to know before ever stepping to the cauldron.

Before we go any further, please remember to be brewing before setting out on Travelling, since you will be doing this all the time when making money outside of customer serving within your shop. Ensure to have something brewing before Travelling each and every time. Once you’ve sorted that out in the morning, here’s how to find even more ingredients.

Where to Discover New Ingredients in Potionomics

In early game, players only have a few connections to make the most of in their initial set-up of their Uncle’s potion shop. As one can expect, these are quite limited at the beginning. This includes Quinn and their item shop. They will only be offering and selling 3 items upon first meeting them, but this can always expand depending on how much effort players put into increasing their range of goods. Players can do this by feeding them newly obtained items whenever they travel to them, so always keep one newly acquired ingredient in hand. Players will need to do this only once with each item, since said item will then become readily purchasable the next day.

Adventuring with Heroes (Mint, Xidriel and Corsac)

You may be wondering where you will be getting these one-off items to hand over to Quinn to make the best use out of them for future investments. This is where the activity of Adventures comes into play. Likewise, when visiting Quinn by Travelling, Mint will be available early on to visit. As an Adventurer, Sylvia can request, pay and send Mint out exploring and foraging for these items that you can use to brew potions with, or hand over to Quinn. This makes acquiring them more easily since encountering them on Adventures is luck based. When Adventuring, you can test the characters’ run with their base stats and equipment Sylvia can provide them with her inventory goods. Doing so will reward Mint with a more successful expedition, meaning that she will return with more items for Sylvia.

To do this, utilise the test feature. It will alert you to when Mint will be unable to go any further in her expedition due to lack of health or mana levels. Players will be able to increase her tolerance by handing over potions to help her see the expedition through. Keep in mind that Mint will not be only Adventurer players can request the assistance of. Later character unlocks are Xidriel and Corsac, both with their own strengths in being deployed, such as bigger health pools and the ability to bring back more items in one go.

Investing with the Guildmaster, Baptiste

But starting out is indeed the hardest part, especially so with the first 10 days of the game being particularly tricky due to all the time constraints with limited assistance from others and resources on offer. To make all the time managing as much of a breeze as possible, ensure to spend time spending some money in Adventure Investments with Baptise.

You will once again be travelling to him and using his service of investments. Some of these items will be of the rarer types, and all will have a chance of gifting more rewards depending on how much money players pump into one, two or three of the listings. Each one has the potential to disrupt the ecosystem, meaning that the player themself can significantly shift the inflation or deflation of any item for a day depending on their actions with this transaction. At the same time, there is the potential to nab rare ingredient bonuses by going all-in, so the risk is sometimes worth the reward.

No matter how dicey that may sound, going in a little as possible still hands over items to the player. This means that anything new to Quinn should be handed them, and then rise and repeat for a steady progression of item resource gathering for even easier potion making.

Salt and Pepper’s Treasure Chests

Finally, treasure chests are the most randomised of all transaction types in the game, as seen when shopping at Salt and Pepper’s store. Players are presented with three chests, with the most expensive holding the best goods of the round. The items here are hidden and are of uncertain rarity. This is however another easy way to encounter at least new items with yet another chance of discovering the rarest of ingredients.

Making friends is key

In the end, the increasing of bonds with these none-playable characters is the key to success in Potionomics. While all of these encounters and transactions are luck based for the most part, players are always rewarded for putting in the time, effort and resources into bonding with these characters for the benefits that their relationship blossoming provides. This can be done by hanging out with them or gifting them liked/loved items. This will result in a Rank Up becoming available to hit the next threshold of their relationship with a character.

Notably, achieving rank 4 with the character will gift them a coupon and rank 8 rewards players with the characters’ second coupon. These coupons are to be used in their shops for helpful discounts. Make the most of quickly ranking up the relationship meters to see your funds be managed more easily.
