What’s the Difference Between Spectral and Manifested Pages in Destiny 2

Of course Bungie overcomplicates things...

Bungie has a habit of overcomplicating things in Destiny 2. That rings true for Festival of the Lost, at least. There are several different currencies for the event, and the game doesn’t do a good job of explaining them. That’s why I’m going over the difference between Spectral and Manifested Pages in Destiny 2.

I’m going to explain the difference between Spectral and Manifested Pages in Destiny 2, as well as how to get each of them. If you’re struggling to wrap your head around this year’s Festival of the Lost – these explanations should help.

The Difference Between Spectral and Manifested Pages in Destiny 2

The difference between Spectral Pages and Manifested Pages in Destiny 2 is pretty simple. Spectral Pages exist before you start a Haunted Sector. They’re then turned into Manifested Pages when you finish that Haunted Sector.

When you complete regular activities out in the world during Festival of the Lost, you’ll earn Spectral Pages. When you complete a Haunted Sector with Spectral Pages in your inventory, up to 10 of them will be turned into Manifested Pages at the end of the activity.

You can then take those Manifested Pages and put them into the Book of the Forgotten to progress your event card challenges.

How to Farm Spectral Pages in Destiny 2

There are two farming methods for Spectral Pages in Destiny 2. There’s one for solo players and one for if you have a teammate.

If you’re a solo player, the fastest way for you to get Spectral Pages is to complete public events. You’ll get around three pages per event you complete. Events take between two and five minutes to complete on average, with a minute or two wait in between events.

If you load into somewhere like the EDZ and just run laps around the map doing the Public Events, you’ll quickly rack up a fair number of pages. Just remember that you can only hold 75 of them in your inventory at any one time.

Farming pages through Public Events is fast enough. However, there is a faster method if you have at least one teammate to run activities with.

Completing any of the Witch Queen campaign missions will award you around nine pages per completion. If you have a teammate to run these missions with, you can juggle the checkpoint at the end of any mission to farm a ludicrous number of pages.

Once you reach the last checkpoint of any given mission, one of you will need to change characters and rejoin the other. This will save the checkpoint on that other character. You then complete the mission, swap back to the other character, and launch the mission from that checkpoint. The other person will then swap characters themselves, and you repeat this process for as long as you want.

How to Get Manifested Pages in Destiny 2

To get Manifested Pages in Destiny 2, all you have to do is take your Spectral Pages into a Haunted Sector. You will convert one Spectral Page into a Manifested Page for each Headless One you kill, up to 10, once the activity ends.

That’s the only way to get Manifested Pages, unlike Spectral Pages which drop from pretty much every activity in the game.
