The Valorant September 8 patch notes are out, and update 3.05 is here. Let's take a look at what's new and changed.

Valorant Update 3.05 is on the horizon, bringing with it a brand new map called Fracture, a few competitive updates, and some agent changes, balances, and tweaks. Players who use Breach, Raze, Killjoy, Sova, and Brimstone may want to give these a read. You can view the full Valorant September 8 patch notes for Update 3.05 down below.

As you’ll see below, the new map, Fracture, is going live in a limited-time Fracture-only queue. The standard, unrated mode will allow players to experience and practice on the new map. After the limited-time mode is over, we will most likely see the map make its way into the competitive rotation, barring any balance issues.

At the time of writing, Valorant’s Update 3.05 is scheduled to release on September 8, 2021.

Competitive Changes

  • The Immortal ranks 1, 2, and 3 have returned.
  • Leaderboard will reflect the change for Immortal-tier players.
  • Ranked grouping restrictions now accommodate the new ranks:
    • Diamond 1 to Immortal 1
    • Diamond 2 to Immortal 2
    • Diamond 3 to Immortal 3
  • Adjustments to competitive ranked distribution.

Battlepass

  • Premium Battlepass upgrades grant 3% XP boost toward Battlepass tier progression for all matchmaking games until the end of Act II.
  • We believe the Battlepass experience is at its best when you’re able to earn hype rewards as you unlock tiers, hitting major milestones, and feeling good about what you’ve earned.
  • Upgrading is not retroactive, so upgrading early will give you access to the most amount of XP.
  • The XP boost does not apply toward Daily or Weekly Missions.

Social

  • AFK detection system updates deter players from farming account levels by going AFK in game modes such as Deathmatch and Snowball Fight.

Performance

  • Ping calculation update now excludes the server frame time.
  • Updated NVIDIA Reflex markers.
    • Reflex is used to reduce and measure rendering latency. The update should better pace frames by adding present markets and fixes on older markers.

Bugs

AGENTS

  • Fixed a bug where concurrent, overlapping ally and enemy Viper smoke could cause the nearsight and decay to never remove
  • Fixed a bug where Omen could become stuck in other objects if they were blocking the return location of From the Shadows
  • Omen will no longer equip his weapon slower than intended after casting Dark Cover
  • Astra will no longer equip her weapon slower than intended after exiting Astral Form
  • Fixed KAY/O’s NULL/cmd waves from destroying the glass on Ascent

COMPETITIVE

  • Fixed a bug that would cause the Leaderboard to infinitely load when searching for a specific player.

ESPORTS FEATURES

  • For Coaches, the Loading screen should now properly display all of the Agent select information (Agent compositions of both teams, etc)
  • Fixed an issue where Observer Moderators could not see the pause match timer option if they disconnected and then reconnected during a round
