New Website from Sony Details the Upcoming PlayStation VR 2

At this year’s CES event in Las Vegas, Sony unveiled the next version of their VR technology, PlayStation VR 2. During this reveal, fans got a look at the redesigned controllers and the first exclusive PS VR2 game. Now, the company has created a website that collects and displays information regarding PlayStation VR 2.

The new website from Sony details what to expect from PlayStation VR 2. The biggest difference between PlayStation VR and PlayStation VR 2 is the resolution. PS VR2 games can reach 4K quality and 120 FPS, which is possible thanks to the new headset’s 2000 x 2040 visual displays. The headset also allows for eye tracking, making your character’s facial expressions more realistic when playing online games with other people.

The redesigned controllers now sport an orb design that is meant to let players “experience freedom of movement and a realistic, natural gaming experience through a well-balanced and ergonomic design.” Just like the PS5’s Dualsense controller, the new PS VR2 controller will have adaptive triggers that make in-game actions feel more realistic such as firing a gun or pulling back on a bow, and firing an arrow.

There is no official release date for PlayStation VR 2, but some rumors say that it will be in stores before the end of the year.
