Sifu gameplay trailer showcases intense hand-to-hand combat

This past weekend at E3, Sloclap, the independent game studio behind Absolver, revealed a new Kung Fu action game called Sifu. The third-person hand-to-hand combat game puts players in control of a young Kung Fu student who is on a path to avenge his family’s murder by an assassination squad. The trailer showcases some impressive combat gameplay under the neon lights of a nightclub.

Here is a look at the Sifu gameplay trailer from Sloclap studio.

Here’s a rundown on what the game is all about:

Sifu tells the story of a young Kung Fu student whose family was brutally killed by a mysterious assassination squad for unknown reasons. The student is on a mission to track down the murders one by one through suburbs populated by gangsters, corporate office buildings, and the city’s darkest corners. Masterful hand-to-hand combat is the key to a successful mission.

The unique gameplay features elements of classic beat ’em ups and the 3D character design of action games. It takes place in a nonexistent Chinese city. Flying solo, the odds will always be stacked against the student, but a lifetime of Kung Fu training serves him well. If things go south, a magical pendant can revive the student, but it comes at a cost: the student ages significantly every time he uses the pendant.

Sifu releases on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Epic Games Store later in 2021. You can check out the official Sifu website for more information, follow the game’s social media on Twitter, and visit the studio’s website here for other games.
