Pokémon GO – Ultra Unlock Part 3: Galar Region Overview

During Pokémon GO Fest 2021, everyone was working toward accomplishing enough goals to activate all three of the Ultra Unlock events, all of which would lead to cool events later down the line. The only thing was that the third one was kept strictly under wraps, so nobody knew what to actually expect. As of today, the cat’s out of the bag: Pokémon from the Galar region are on the way! Here’s an overview of the Galar region Ultra Unlock in Pokémon GO.

Let’s get the pressing details out of the way first: this Ultra Unlock will go into effect starting on August 20th, 2021, two weeks from this Friday, and will run until the end of the month. This will be a two-week event, with Pokémon spawns and raids switching up in the second week.

Pokémon GO – Ultra Unlock Part 3: Galar Region Overview

Firstly, we’ve got new additions to the PokéDex, all from the Galar region. Skwovet, Greedent, Wooloo, Dubwool, and Falinks will all start appearing in the wild, with Skwovet and Wooloo in particular appearing more frequently. There will also be boosted spawn chances for certain shiny Pokémon, including shiny Galarian Meowth, shiny Galarian Farfetch’d, shiny Galarian Weezing, and shiny Galarian Stunfisk. Galarian Darumaka and Trubbish will also be appearing more frequently in the wild.

7km Eggs will have some new occupants, including Galarian Meowth, Galarian Ponyta, Galarian Slowpoke, Galarian Farfetch’d, Galarian Zigzagoon, Galarian Darumaka, and Galarian Stunfisk.

Next, we’ve got raids. Raid occupants will change in the second week, so if there’s anyone you’ve got your sights on in the first week, make sure to challenge them promptly.
