Jump-Start Research is a special type of research aimed at helping new Pokemon GO players catch up on their in-game experience. The series of research is split into six sets of tasks, all of which grant a decent amount of XP and Pokemon encounters. These tasks are an excellent way for newer players to familiarize themselves with various aspects of the game, such as taking snapshots, hatching eggs, and collecting new Pokemon. Jump-Start Research has appeared in-game during the last two summers, and this year it is appearing again during the Pokemon GO 5th Anniversary Event. The special research does not expire, but you’ll want to make sure to open up the research tab before July 15 so that you have them available.
Pokemon GO Jump-Start Research Tasks and Rewards
Here are the Pokemon GO Jump-Start Research Tasks and Rewards. Players have until July 15 at 8 pm local time to accept the tasks. There are six sets of tasks in total.

- Make a new friend: 5000 XP
- Catch 3 Pokémon with Weather Boost: 5000 XP
- Hatch an Egg: 5000 XP
- Rewards: 2x Lucky Eggs, 15,000 Stardust, Dratini Encounter

- Earn a Candy walking with your buddy: 30x Dratini Candy
- Take a snapshot of Dratini: 30x Dratini Candy
- Evolve a Dratini: 10,000 XP Reward
- Rewards: 1x Premium Raid Pass, 15,000 Stardust, 2x Lucky Eggs

- Power up Pokémon 10 times: 15,000 XP
- Battle another Trainer in the Great League: 15,000 XP
- Battle in a Raid: 15,000 XP
- Rewards: 2x Lucky Eggs, 15,000 XP, 2x Star Piece

- Catch 5 different species of Pokémon: Chimchar encounter
- Catch a Legendary from a Research Breakthrough or Raid: Piplup encounter
- Hatch 3x Eggs: Turtwig encounter
- Rewards: 2x Lucky Eggs, 15,000 Stardust, Shiny Eevee Encounter

- Take a snapshot of Eevee: 30,000 XP
- Send 5 gifts to friends: 30,000 XP
- Trade 3 Pokémon: 30,000 XP

- Make a new friend: 60x Dratini Candy
- Win a level 3 or higher Raid: 60x Dratini Candy
- Evolve a Dragonair: 100,000 XP
