According to the PokéDex, Zacian is able to take on its signature Crowned Sword form by absorbing ambient metal particles from the soil of Galar. Of course, even knights didn’t walk around with their armor all the time, so it’s more frequently seen in its normal, native form. Don’t let the lack of a sword fool you, though, this thing packs a bite. Here’s a guide on Raid counters for Zacian in its Hero of Many Battles form in Pokémon GO.
Pokémon GO Hero of Many Battles Zacian Raid Counters Guide
Without its sword, Hero of Many Battles Zacian is a pure Fairy type, which means its resistances break down like this:
- Weak Against: Poison, Steel
- Resistant to: Dark, Dragon, Fighting
Meanwhile, these are the moves Hero of Many Battles Zacian has sheathed away:
- Metal Claw (Steel)
- Snarl (Dark)
- Fire Fang (Fire)
- Quick Attack (Normal)
- Iron Head (Steel)
- Play Rough (Fairy)
- Close Combat (Fighting)
- Wild Charge (Electric)
Hero of Many Battles Zacian is a tricky combatant, as its Fairy typing gives it resistance to most heavy damage-dealing types, while its moveset features counters to many Pokémon that could easily exploit its weaknesses otherwise. If you want to beat this thing, you’re gonna need to bring in some really tough customers that can tank a few major blows.
Mega Evolution is an absolute boon against Hero of Many Battles Zacian, with the best possible candidate being Mega Gengar. While Snarl’s Dark typing is a potential hazard to Mega Gengar, its extra damage and heartiness brought about by Mega Evolution is enough to keep it in the fight. To a lesser extent, Mega Beedrill is another viable pick, as its Attack is close to Mega Gengar’s and it can use the same Poison moves. It is a Bug type, however, which means it could be sidelined by Fire Fang.
If you don’t have Mega Energy handy, your next best bet is our old friend Metagross. While Metagross is weak to both Dark and Fire moves, its iron-clad Defense and powerful Steel type moves can even things out a bit. Excadrill can also work in a pinch, though due to double weaknesses against Fire and Fighting, not to mention much less Defense than Metagross, it’s a bit of a gamble.
