Little Nightmares 3 Announced at Gamescom – Characters, Co-op and Release Date

Supermassive Games make their return to the horror realm with the announcement alongside their Dev partner in crime, BANDAI NAMCO of Little Nightmare 3. Announced at Gamescom in Germany on August 22nd, 2023, BANDAI NAMCO Devs share a few details on what is in store for us nightmare walkers. What may shock others with the lack of Six who has been the star of the Little Nightmares series, including comics and mobile game – Very Little Nightmares, the shift has been made to include new characters and a brand new, terrifying setting that continues the isolating and apocalyptic feel that the previous two games had. What is in Store in Little Nightmares 3?

Little Nightmares 3 moves away from the story of Six and Mono. As we saw the fate of Mono revealed as a paradox in Little Nightmares 2, we can assume that Six will in some way make her return to the third installment. However, in this game, we now follow two new characters – Lure and Alone and in a brand new setting called the Spiral where our characters are trapped inside the Nowhere. Co-op has also been announced, working in a similar way to Until Dawn in that you can play online with your friend where you will work together to evade monsters, solve puzzles and deal with the nightmare together.

The game seems to include classic evading, hiding and solving of puzzles as well as the return to a more technological mechanic or diving into different areas through the use of mirrors. Whereas Little Nightmares 2 followed Mono travelling through televisions and the reveal of the Thin Man to be Mono himself, we wonder if the mirror will reveal these characters to be connected to The Lady (Geisha) from Little Nightmares 1.

When is Little Nightmares 3 Set to Release?

BANDAI NAMCO have confirmed that Little Nightmares 3 is set to release in 2024. Although its exact date has not been announced, we estimate that it will arrive in Fall 2024 based on the previous release dates of the last two Little Nightmares games.
