Killer Bean Gets Game Adaptation – When Does It Release?

Killer Bean really does last forever

It is rare when I have not heard of a film that has a community or cult following so powerful that it completely transcends time and space. From Clockwork Orange, Fight Club and Donnie Darko which grew in popularity throughout the years, to iconically bad movies such as The Room and Birdemic that will go down as the best worst films ever made. It was not until the arrival of the Killer Bean Game Trailer that gripped me in a way that not many video games do nowadays. I had somehow missed out on the birth of this highly unique, action-packed animated film that surely inspired the inevitable rise of John Wick. With references to popular action-comedies at the time such as Rush Hour of action going down in a sushi restaurant, and pop culture moments of performing a dunk with a cooking grenade before being too cool to look at the explosion Mr Bean had caused. With the film having released in 2008, I wondered how I had been condemned to watch Bee Movie over this animated masterpiece growing up.

When Does Killer Bean Release?

Killer Bean has made his return. After Jeff Lew’s announcement back in 2021, this game has been under gruelling development since for the release of a polished open-world, action-packed game that seems to promise a reimagining of the first movie. With initial gameplay showing low-motion sequences by taking notes out of classic Max Payne shooters, a mix of first and third-person perspectives to match the all-out chaos experienced in this Just Cause, Grand Theft Auto feeling game. But when exactly does this, highly iconic game release? Killer Bean is set to release in 2024, however its date has not been announced. All we know is that it is under the ‘coming soon’ status on Steam and if you are interested, wishlisting this here will give you an instant notification for when the game actually drops.

Giving its playerbase more hope than that of the latest EA or Ubisoft entry, Killer Bean looks to hit Windows with a bang and will likely experience less problems on launch than that of AAA games in the recent years. For those interested in playing this game but cannot wait, there is a free-to-play Killer Bean game titled Killer Bean Unleashed, available on iOS and Android. We estimate that the new game will sell for $20-25 when it finally releases.

Are you looking forward to the release of Killer Bean? I know, unironically I am. It’s about time something took on the open-world of Red Dead and the flawless action of GTA within a single game. Maybe the Killer Bean is just the bean to do it. For more on the latest video game releases, be sure to see all GJ articles written here.
