Hello Games are most well-known for No Mans Sky. The game may have disappointed gamers at launch, but the company was able to redeem itself in the years that followed, eventually turning the game into the one fans had wanted at launch. In a way, they’ve redeemed themselves again by updating and rereleasing their first game Joe Danger for iOS thanks to a father’s desperate plea.
Hello Games’ First Game is Once Again Playable on iOS
Joe Danger has been updated to run on iOS 15 after the developers at Hello Games received an email from one caring father. The father in question has an autistic son named Jack who found comfort in the iOS version of Joe Danger. After years of iOS updates, the game was unfortunately rendered unplayable.
According to Hello Games’ founder Sean Murray, “A secret shame of ours is that the success of No Man’s Sky left our first game Joe Danger unloved.” After reading the email sent by Jack’s father, the studio felt that they had to redeem themselves once again. They remade the game slowly over time and were able to release the new version for iOS devices.
This new version of Joe Danger includes improved graphics, a higher frame rate, and gamepad support. All owners of the original version will receive it for free while anyone else can pay two dollars to play it. Murray went on to mention how impactful games can be for those who play them and that now Joe Danger himself would be “riding off into the sunset waving at us all, smiling, a proud tear in his eye” now that the game had been updated one final time.
