Sony seems to be hard at work using its film and TV divisions to adapt PlayStation properties. A Twisted Metal show is on the way from the writer of the Deadpool movie, and the Uncharted film will hit theaters this Friday. It appears that the next game to be adapted by Sony will be Jak and Daxter, according to a recent interview.
The Dynamic Duo Will Get Either a Movie or TV Show
During an interview with Digital Trends to promote the upcoming Uncharted film, the film’s director Ruben Fleischer revealed that he is in talks to work on an adaption of Jak and Daxter. “I’m actually working on Jak and Daxter, a version of that, for PlayStation, which I think would be really cool to bring to life,” he told Digital trends.
Previously, Fleischer was attached to a Spy Hunter film that was an adaptation of the Spy Hunter video game series. Jak and Daxter is another game series from Naughty Dog, creators of the Uncharted franchise. It’s a platformer starring Jak and his animal companion Daxter as they embark on an adventure.
Recently, Tom Holland expressed interest in pitching a live-action Jak and Daxter movie produced by A24 that he describes as “really weird and like dark.” It is currently unknown if he will be involved with this upcoming adaptation of Jak and Daxter.
