How to Upgrade Gear in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed
There are four different primary pieces of equipment that you can customize over your course with the game. Each has its own various pieces that can be upgraded and swapped out, changing its stats to improve the way that you use it in the field.
Additionally, using weapons during jobs will increase their level, thus unlocking those exact parts you’ll use to improve them. Each gear type will also have a single part that can only be unlocked by completing the Research Contract connected to it.
Here are all of the different pieces of Gear the Ghostbusters use and the different parts of them that are able to be upgraded:

Secondary Gadgets
There are also Secondary Gadgets that can be unlocked and used as you level up your Ghostbuster, though none of them can be upgraded or customized in any way.
Here they are:
- V.A.D.
- Ionizer Pods – Level 12
- Radar Puck – Level 20
- Ecto Goggles – Level 50
