How to Unlock Wolf Knight – Fire Emblem Engage

Wolf Knights are one of the Advanced Classes in Fire Emblem Engage, easily-identifiable on the battlefield by the large white wolves they ride around on. Wolf Knights are about average in terms of raw strength, but their real talents lay in assassination and camp destruction, with 20s in both speed and luck allowing them to slip in, wreck stuff, and make tracks. You can get a feel for the class by recruiting Merrin, who has Wolf Knight as her base class.

Technically speaking, Wolf Knight is actually made up of three sub-classes, determined by the weapon the unit specializes in. The three types of Wolf Knight are:

  • Axe Wolf Knights
  • Sword Wolf Knights
  • Lance Wolf Knights

Since Wolf Knight is an Advanced Class, any unit you want to become a Wolf Knight will need to have sufficient levels in a prerequisite class, as well as weapon proficiencies. Here’s what a unit needs to qualify for each type of Wolf Knight:

  • Axe Wolf Knights: Level 10 Sword, Lance, or Axe Cavalier, proficiencies in Axes and Knives
  • Sword Wolf Knights: Level 10 Sword, Lance, or Axe Cavalier, proficiencies in Swords and Knives
  • Lance Wolf Knights: Level 10 Sword, Lance, or Axe Cavalier, proficiencies in Lances and Knives

Once you’ve got a unit that meets the prerequisites, all you need is a Master Seal to promote them to a Wolf Knight. Master Seals can be found in treasure chests and dropped by certain characters in certain chapters, but if you’re having trouble sourcing them, you can buy an infinite number of them from the store starting in Chapter 17 for 2,500 Gold a pop.

While Wolf Knights are a bit on the fragile side, if you give them a straight shot from point A to point B, they’ll rocket on over and dice up whatever happens to be standing there. Don’t worry, they’ll provide their own wolves.
