Crafting weapons is a great way to survive. Not all creatures, and well, people in this case will be friendly, and therefore, you need something to defend yourself with. Now, maybe you lack the ability to create a rocket launcher, but even myself can make a spear out of sticks. And we will do just that, survive with some very pointy sticks. Here is how to make a spear in Sons of the Forest.
How to Make a Spear in Sons of the Forest
What more medieval and, let’s be honest, awesome than being able to craft your own spear? Yes, it may lack the fanciness of a submachine gun, but hunting birds or fish with one may be a bit overkill. Thankfully, the spear is one of the first and easiest melee and ranged weapons you will be able to craft during your survival horror adventure in Sons of the Forest. And yes, it is also a ranged weapon because you will be able to throw it at your enemies.
Anyway, if you wish to make a spear, you will have to gather the necessary materials first. You will need the knife you received as part of your survival gear, one duct tape, and two sticks. You will be able to get the duct tape by looting the containers found near the crash site, they are blue. Sticks are all over the world, in the ground. You can get them on the forest or beach, or you can instruct Kelvin to bring some for you. Once you collect them all, open your inventory by pressing I. Then, right click on each item, which is the combine action. Then, click on the gear icon to craft the spear.

It is that simple, you will have your spear in no time. Just remember to collect the necessary items, specially the duct tape that is a little bit less common than the sticks. Just combine the items and you will have a decent starting melee weapon. Yes, a little archaic, but effective.
