How To Change Your Name in Valorant

Here’s how to change your name in Valorant:

  1. Login to the Riot Games account page
  2. Click on Riot ID on the left side
  3. Click on the pencil icon to the right of your Riot ID
  4. Enter a new Riot ID and hashtag

Your Valorant name is linked to your Riot Games account. Head over to the official Riot Games account page and edit your name in there. You can change your name once every thirty days. After switching, you will need to restart Valorant to get it to update.

Go to the Riot Games account page linked above, and go to the Riot ID tab after you log in. Click on the little pencil icon to the right of your Riot ID and input your new name. Your name must also include four digits after it for identification, but you can choose to randomize that. That’s all you need to do to change your name in Valorant.

You may want to change your in-game name for various reasons. This includes joining a team or possibly having a non-compliant name. There is no separate way to change your in-game name outside of going through the Riot Games website and updating it.

Your name shows up whenever you type in team or all chat, when you’re in a party, and when you show up on the kill feed. There are a few websites available that track your Valorant stats by your player name.
