How to Build the Spaceport Complex in Tropico 6: New Frontiers

Achieving interstellar space travel is going to take a bit of gumption, espionage, and bribery. Just another day as El Presidente.

Most people don’t normally think the holidays coincide with interstellar travel. Realmforge Studios however, thought this was the best time to release a new expansion for Tropico 6 titled New Frontiers. This new DLC brings new missions, buildings, and edicts for players to sink their teeth into. There’s one building that we are going to be focusing on in particular. That building is the Spaceport Complex. Necessary for any El Presidente looking to make the leap into space travel, the Spaceport Complex won’t be available immediately when starting on the new island. Because of this, we are going to hold a conference and show you how to build the Spaceport Complex in Tropico 6: New Frontiers.

Unfortunately, players will need to start building up their island before they can start flying rockets. When starting out, the expansion has 5 total missions each with their unique islands to go along with them. By starting the first mission “A Bold Step Ahead” players will be thrust into their new island with tons of familiar faces to help along the way. Completing missions with Hector Sanchez and Veronica Veneo will increase standings with the Axis and Allies respectively. Upon completing these missions, a strange scientist will approach you with an interesting proposition.

The Professor will suggest that you complete a raid on the Axis powers named Plan B2.” After players successfully transport the rocket through customs while making sure that the island has a commando garrison, you will complete the Professors first mission. The Ally and Axis powers will have a word with you about the consequences of stealing a secret rocket, but none of that matters. You are about to perform the world’s first space travel and have no time for trivial concerns such as these. Following this, the Professor will return with the most important quest of all, “Science Above Everything.” This quest will task the player with things such as building a crew cabin assembly, and the illustrious Spaceport Complex. It costs $5,000 to unlock the blueprint, and another $35,000 to build the structure.
