How to Avoid the Zurks and Reach the Tower on the Roof Tops in Stray

Onwards and upwards.
This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information

It’s anyone’s guess what a cat gets up to as it explores the high-rising roofs of a big city. What they’re looking for, what other creatures they’re getting into scrapes with. Well, if Stray is any indication, the “what” is a place to stick a transmitter, and the “creatures” are icky Zurks. Here’s how to avoid the Zurks and reach the tower on the roof tops in Stray.

How to Avoid the Zurks and Reach the Tower on the Roof Tops in Stray

Not long into Stray’s fifth chapter, you’ll be navigating the rooftops while Zurks come out of the woodwork to antagonize you. These little jerks function as a single, horde-like unit. If one rushes you, it’ll probably have a few more behind it. Since you can’t stop them yourself, you’ll need to make careful use of misdirection and the environment to throw them off your trail. If you’re ever stuck in an unfavorable situation, don’t be afraid to backtrack a bit until you’re in a safer spot.

When you get to the part of the level with two doors and a cage over a chasm, you should see a couple of devices on either side. Press the button on your side to close one of the doors and open the other, which will let a gaggle of Zurks loose. Use your meow to draw their attention and lure them into the nearby cage, then jump back across the chasm to hit the button and trap them. Once they’re dealt with, you can continue moving upwards with some help from a barrel.

The next area is a maze of planks and pipes that you’ll need to follow upwards. The path you need to follow is pretty clear, so just keep on moving and the Zurks won’t catch you. When you see a barrel behind a fence, you’ll need to lure the Zurks over to the right side of the floor, then quickly dodge past them and jump into the fence to get to the barrel. Roll the barrel forward to access the final area.

In this area, an elevator will be slowly descending from above you. All you can do is bide your time until it arrives, so just try to keep running circles around the Zurks. As long as you don’t stop, they won’t be able to gang up on you. Once the elevator finally arrives, get in, ride it to the top, and plant the transmitter to end the level.
