Only the brave will attempt to pull a Card. In Demonologist, players are able to seen into their close future via the use of the Tarot Cards. Whilst this is an exclusive item and one that you must work hard to obtain, players can gamble away their fate within the Hospital walls. The use of the Tarot Cards is just one of the many ways to get a react from the ‘other side’ but will luck be on your side? This is our guide on how to use Tarot Cards and what their function is in the new Co-op Ghost Hunting Horror Game, Demonologist.
How to Use the Tarot Cards
The Tarot Cards are just one of the many Tools, alongside the Ouija Board that you can use as a means to convene with the other side. No matter when you use these Items, someone on the other side will always respond, but we cannot guarantee that what they have to say will satisfy your answers. For these conversational Tools can bring forth punishment to the player who utilizes their effect. The result of using a Tarot Card can massively alter the outcome of the match, placing you inside harms way, or dealing the final blow by taking away your life. For those reasons, the Tarot Card is the scariest Tool you can use in the game. You are literally put your in-game fate into the hands of whoever is on the other side. What card will you draw from the deck?

The Tarot Cards are just one of the newest Tools added into Demonologist, along with the Ouija Board. These act as a way to communicate with the other side as players will need all the help they can get in locating the Entity Room and figuring out its typing. As a result, some may go to extreme measures of revealing their fate through the Tarot Cards. This Tool is available to use in the game as more than a means of figuring out the entity type. It instead can completely change the tide in the match, by either saving a lost soul or initiating a Hunt purely by the Card that you pull.
When you have the Tarot Cards in hand, use the left-mouse button to interact and pull a Card from the Deck. This is the interaction button used for other Tools such as the Spirit Box and Ectoplasma Glass.
How do Tarot Cards Work?
But how do these Tarot Cards work? Well, like when using these in real life via the accompaniment of a Medium/Psychic, the Cards act as a reveal of your fate. However, unlike real life readings, the result of the Tarot Cards will happen instantly upon reading the Card Title. But what happens when you pull a specific Card? This is what we know so far:
- Death – Pulling this Card results in the activation of the Hunt in which the entity will attack. A Crucifix is preferred here to withstand the effects.
- Void – Appears to do nothing, acts as a null Card for you to pick another from the Deck.
- Flame of Fate – Can raise or lower your Sanity.
- Moon – Lowers Sanity.
- Sun – Increases Sanity.
- Guillotine – Kills the player holding the Card.
- Devil – Increases the paranormal activity of the entity.
- Aggressive – Increases the aggression of the entity.
- Slave – Stops the entity from changing its Entity Room to another place on the Map.
- Angel – Brings a dead teammate back to life.
The Tarot Cards are randomized, therefore you will not know what Card you will pull from the deck. As most of these Cards have negative effects, this Card may not be appropriate to use as a solo player. It may provide use if you are playing with your friends, but that is a risk that you may not want to take. If you are going to use the Tarot Cards, we highly recommend that you have a Crucifix with you at HQ so you can equip it before you interact with the Deck.
