In the first few hours of your journey through the wizarding world, players will be tasked with learning the Levioso spell. This cannot be missed and it an integral part of the beginning of the story. As such, you will be using Levioso for a good amount of time before learning Wingardium Leviosa. Throughout the course of the first 10ish hours of the game, players will be given assignments from teachers. These assignments are used as ways on introducing new spells to the player over the course of the game.

One of these assignments will reward you with the spell Wingardium Leviosa. Touted as the advanced version of Levioso. Levioso simply allows the player to lift an object or person off the ground in one direction and only for a certain amount of time. Wingardium Leviosa on the other hand, allows you to lift, rotate, and even move around while you’re holding something. In combat, you’ll more than often end up using Levioso. Due to the fact that it’s ease of use can help with casting the right spells at the right time. Wingardium Leviosa will be more useful during puzzle sections of the open world. Knowing when to use one over the other will help bring you closer to being the master witch/wizard you hope to be.
