Test your Fortnite-related knowledge, Wordle style.

When Wordle hit the scene a few months back, it swiftly became the biggest thing since sliced bread. The simple word game, bolstered by an easily shareable format, became a fun way to casually compete with friends and family members on a daily basis, which was especially appreciated by those who maintain long-distance relationships and don’t always have a good excuse to start a conversation.

Of course, when anything becomes popular, it will spawn a metric whoa-ton of imitators, which is how we got bizarre Wordle knockoffs like Absurdle and Sweardle, as well as clones specifically tailored to certain interests. That’s what brings us to today’s subject: a Wordle game for Fortnite’s many fans.

The Fortnite Wordle clone Fortle is now available. Curated by FortniteSkin.com, a database on all of Fortnite’s myriad collectibles and cosmetics, Fortle operates on the same basic principle as Wordle. Every day, a random five-letter word is selected, and you’ve got six chances to guess it, with correct letters in the correct spaces highlighted on each successive guess to get you closer to the answer.

The twist is that the chosen word will always be something Fortnite-related, which covers a much wider swath of language than you may think. It could be a term commonly used by the Fortnite community, a character from Fortnite’s ongoing storyline, the name of a particular item, or even the name of one of Fortnite’s skins.

Lest we forget, the sheer number of licensed characters that have been introduced to the game through skins and more means you’ve got an entire media library’s worth of potential answers.

Whether you correctly guess the day’s word or not, Fortle will give you a conveniently-shareable template of your guesses that you can share on your social media or messaging apps, so you can challenge your Fortnite buddies to guess the word sooner than you did. And if you didn’t get the word right, just come back in a day for a brand new word!
