The latest Forspoken trailer shows off new gameplay that highlights the game’s unique traversal system and combat. Protagonist Frey has become trapped in the land of Athia and fights enemies using magic spells. Magic also powers her parkour abilities as she can dash through the air or create a hoverboard.

Her attacks include a whip that can swing around to attack nearby enemies, a lightning bolt-like blast, and a hand blast. There isn’t any word on what exactly these attacks are or how they work. The enemies Frey will take on so far consist of skeleton creatures and a large lion.

Forspoken takes place in a world that is a mix of both modern and fantasy elements. Former Uncharted series writer Amy Hennig will be working on its story along with Gary Whitta (Rogue One). The game’s current release date is October 11, 2022. It will be playable on the PS5 and PC.
