The year 2022 is shaping up to be a strong one for video games. Already we’ve seen the release of games such as Sifu, Dying Light 2, and Horizon: Forbidden West. Another highly anticipated game set to be released this year is Forspoken, a fantasy RPG published by Square Enix. The game was originally going to be released in May but it has unfortunately been delayed until this fall.
The Game’s Developers Need More Time
In a statement released via the Forspoken Twitter account, the team Luminous Productions have revealed that they are delaying Forspoken until October 11, 2022. The decision was justified with the following statement: “Our vision for this exciting new IP is to deliver a game world and hero that gamers across the globe will want to experience for years to come, so getting it right is extremely important to us.”
Forspoken was going to be released on May 24 before the delay was announced. The game is currently being developed for PC and the PS5 thanks to an exclusivity agreement between publisher Square Enix and PlayStation. A rumor about the delay surfaced a few days ago along with the rumor of a possible PlaySation event occurring soon.
