How to Survive the 4 Minutes in The Karaoke

The climax of the horror in The Karaoke comes at the moment when the intruder is revealed. You call the Police, knowing that something is wrong because of your phone calls with Moeka. You are told that you must survive for the next 4 minutes before the Police arrives at the scene. The game tells you that you must sneak by using ‘C’ to crouch. As the intruder can hear your footsteps if you run around. Sneaking will also reduce the likelihood that the intruder spots you. There are multiple places that you can hide to pass the time in the 4 minutes. However you will have to wait as the timer ticks down instead of time instantly passing over.

Do not Spend Longer than 30 Seconds Hiding

The main thing that we stress when attempting to hide from the intruder is that you cannot hide in one place for the entirety of the 4 minutes. Instead you need to wait for a total of 40 seconds in each hiding spot. The best thing you can do is listen out for the audio cues. The intruder repeats the same dialogue lines of “I know you are in there”, “where are you hiding?”, “I won’t hurt you, just come out” and “there is no point in hiding” in Japanese. You will notice if he is close by how loud his voice is. We highly recommend playing with headphones on in order to tell how far away the intruder is in this sequence.

If you stay in one spot for longer than 30 seconds, the intruder will always find you. He will check the location you are staying at the most. Refer to your characters breathing to know if you are about to get caught. Her breathing will increase to signify that the intruder is close and will likely catch you. It is not about where you hide but about how long you hide for. When you are hiding, listen out for when the intruder passes the room you are in. Make sure that after you hear his voice get quieter that you leave your hiding spot. You will need to switch otherwise you will get caught.

Hide Behind Doors and Cover

The Intruder will start at the back door of the Karaoke bar and make his way down the corridors. There is glass on the floor throughout the bar, in the middle of corridors and beside the front desk. A great hiding spot is opposite the bar entrance as there is cover for you to hide behind. It is not classified as a hiding spot but will work temporarily as the intruder moves searches the other rooms. This spot will help you far more than trying to move between the two hiding spots of Room 12’s table and the women’s toilets. You should be able to hide opposite the entrance, next to the cover with the bottle crates for the entirety of the 4 minutes so long as you do not step on any glass.

Alternatively, you can grab the Janitorial Key from behind the front desk, open the blue door at the end of the corridor on the right from the desk and hide in there. Make sure you do not stand on any glass, especially in this room. You can watch where the intruder is near by through walls via the arrow icon which shows his movement. At the 1 minute mark on the timer, the power will get cut, leaving you in the dark. Do not panic, stay in spots that are not classified as hidden and you will be fine. By doing this, you will achieve the sixth ending.
