Weaknesses

Before getting into the best builds for Surtr, it’s important to point out some of his flaws, which other players are going to try and exploit. There are several tactics to watch out for, as players will try to employ them.

Firstly, make sure that you’re watching out for mages or any other quick gods, as these are Surtr’s biggest enemies due to the fact that they’re agile, and he most certainly is not. Surtr is also vulnerable to attacks after his ability, Emberwalk, is finished. So be sure to guard yourself if you’re in need of a heal, as this window is their best attacking moment.

Abilities

Surtr has five pretty distinct abilities, Flames of Muspell, Giant’s Grasp, Emberwalk, and End of Days, as well as a passive ability, Obsidian Flash. Each one will serve you well, but it’s best to remember that Surtr is a very slow god, since the offense is his strong suit.

Survey the battlefield, study your opponent, and make the right moves that you figure will work best to support the position that you’re in. Whether that’s the one owning the battlefield, or the one needing to regain some momentum. He’s a strong god, and his abilities can go a long way.
