Atomic Heart – How to fix stuttering or lagging on PC

There's not a lot in the way of internal settings. Except if you want to manually change your hard drive speed.

Atomic Heart has landed in players consoles and PC’s recently. Players who were eager to check out what this Bioshock-esque game has to offer were left a bit confused. When upon starting the game, for some players, they experienced large amounts of lag and stutters while playing. In an FPS action game where a split second reaction can be the difference between surviving and dying, these are not good things to be experiencing. Players could attempt to wait for further patches and fixes put out by the developers. This could take a short or long amount of time, making your game unplayable. Because of this, we are going to be taking a look at how to fix stuttering or lagging on PC in Atomic Heart.

As far as solutions to the problem go, players have a few different possibilities that they can try and troubleshoot. First, a simple solution could be achieved by navigating in the settings and finding the ‘Hard Drive Speed’ and setting it to the proper speed, depending on if you have an HDD or SSD.

Making sure the game is able to properly load can potentially fix any lagging issues that players might have. For others that experience more lag or stuttering issues, there is a way to help with that. In order to fix some of these issues, players can attempt to limit their games FPS from their graphics cards control panel. This could be done through applications such as RivaTuner or the basic NVIDIA Control Panel. By limiting your FPS in game, it should smooth out any stuttering or lag spikes you have encoutnered.
