New Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Legendary Pokemon

We have two new legendaries to add to the list of legendaries that are part of the Pokemon franchise. Each one respectfully colored to match the title of the game. From the design we see it looks like they’re dragon/fighting type. They have a dinosaur build and looks absolutely terrifying. The new legendary Pokemon are Koraidon and Miraidon.

Non-legendary Pokemon

Bring on the cuteness! The Pokemon that were introduced are uniquely different and have pretty normal designs. We have a Pokemon that falls under the normal type, another with grass/normal type, and lastly an electric type. From what we learned these will be Pokemon you can expect to find when roaming around the new land. Check below to see some of these new Pokemon!

Hechonk

  • Normal type
  • Hog Pokemon
  • Height: 1’8″
  • Weight: 22.5 lbs.
  • Ability: Gluttony / Aroma Veil

This gluttonous pig eats plenty of wild berries and grass as he roams around the region. He uses his aroma abilities to scope out the tastiest treats. When he enters a battle he will frantically panic and charge head first at his opponent. Don’t be fooled by his appearance! As round as he appears it’s entirely made of muscle, so we wonder, what his evolution will be. Will he have tons of strength and look menacing?

Smoliv

  • Grass/Normal Type
  • Olive Pokemon
  • Height: 1′
  • Weight: 14.3 lbs.
  • Ability: Early Bird

Smoliv really does look like a precious green olive. He is not edible. He has oil dripping from his head that prevents him from being edible to eat. Not that you should eat him! If you even attempt to try to capture him he will spew out olive oil from his head at you. This will give him an opportunity to try to escape, however if you do manage to go into battle with him, he will use attacks typical of a grass type. Smoliv enjoys sunbathing, not being consumed, and squirting olive oil when it can.

Pawmi

  • Electric type
  • Mouse Pokemon
  • Height: 1′
  • Weight: 5.5 lbs.
  • Ability: Static / Natural Cure

Pikachu has some competition when it comes to this electric mouse type Pokemon. Those cheeks are pinchable, but we highly recommend you avoid it. Similar to Pikachu, those cheeks are consumed with electricity. He generates electricity by rubbing his cheek and shocking people who get too close. His thick fur helps with cold weather and if he feels threatened he will not hesitate to shock you. Cute by deadly!

  • Poison/Ground type
  • Poison Fish Pokemon
  • Height: 1’4″
  • Weight: 24.3 lbs.
  • Ability: Poison Point / Water Absorb

In this variation on a familiar theme, we have the Paldean variant of Wooper! Unlike its water-type cousin, this ‘mon lives on dry land and covers their bodies with a poisonous film. This prevents them from drying out. They protect themselves from predators by shooting a powerful poisonous liquid from their gills.
