So, which Agents are the best in Valorant? There are a few factors involved when it comes to assigning the ranks. One of the most important things to look at is their synergy with other characters. Second is how useful their abilities are for the team. The third factor is how easily they can be countered.
S Tier Valorant Agents
Sage is easily the best support character in the game and essential for a perfect team composition. With two slows, a wall, and a resurrect, Sage can completely slow down rounds to the point where the other team can’t do anything. Sage, combined with Brimstone, shuts down entire areas of the map. She also has a heal, so any teammate that takes damage can restore their health within seconds.
Cypher is another Agent we’d put in S tier. He is instrumental in the attack and also while defending. You can never get flanked with a Cypher on your team. There are also many places where the Spycam will get you all the information you need to secure rounds. He can easily hold sites by himself, completely block off choke points, and free up some pressure on the team.
Brimstone has the best smokes in the game. This unique ability is really what makes him S tier. You can throw his smokes from anywhere on the map and place them with 100% accuracy. His ultimate ability is also good because the area of effect is so large. A good Brimstone can allow the team to make successful plays, and he can even win a lot of rounds all by himself.
A Tier Valorant Agents
Omen has outstanding abilities in general. While his teleport move is too apparent, and any good player can easily counter it, he has a lot of utility. We previously ranked Omen at the bottom of our list, but a lot of players have shown how effective he can be in high-level play.
Sova players that know proper arrow placement can bring a lot to the table. Aside from Cypher, he’s the best recon Agent in the game. The only downside is you need to have an arsenal of excellent arrow placements. Otherwise, people can counter his arrows easily with one shot.
Raze is going in A tier. She is great for team play and brings a ton of utility. She is excellent at getting frags that make for some beautiful highlight clips, and she can force enemy players out of positions. The ultimate is also a great value and usually is a guaranteed kill.
B Tier Valorant Agents
Breach is a player that can be amazing, depending on the team composition and skill level of the teammates. All of his abilities are very well-rounded. He has the best flashes in the game, and his ultimate is impressive. The disorienting effect of his skills is the most annoying thing to handle. He can also hold off a team rush by himself and buy enough time for the backup to arrive.
Jett is an uncommon pick in high ranked matches. Her smoke ability does not last very long, and her movement skills are fun to use but not very useful in team play. Jett is an enjoyable agent to play, but she does not bring enough to the table. A good Jett can carry a match, even at high ranks, due to her useful solo abilities. That’s all she has going for her in high-rank competitive play.
Phoenix is also getting B tier because his abilities are beneficial for team play. Like Breach and Reyna, his flashes are solid. Run it Back is also a fantastic ultimate ability. You can use it to get knowledge about the entire enemy team setup, or you can do some entry fragging with it.
C Tier Valorant Agents
Viper is an all-around decent Agent to pick for team play. If a player knows all of the different Viper smokes and walls, she has potential. Overall, there are better picks than Viper, and he is not as beneficial to the team as other agents.
Reyna is a great character with the best flash in the game. The issue with her is that three of her abilities require kills. In high-level competitive play, plays happen mostly off of utility and strategy execution rather than just mowing down the entire enemy team with one character.
