The Second WWE 2K22 Ringside Report is a Deep Dive on MyGM Mode

The Second WWE 2K22 Ringside Report is a Deep Dive on MyGM Mode

Fans of the WWE games have asked for several features to be added to the current games. The most requested has to be GM mode. The mode lets players take control of one of WWE’s brands and manage it like a person playing Rollercoaster Tycoon would manage their park. The mode was removed over a decade ago but will make its triumphant return in WWE 2K22. In anticipation of the game’s upcoming release, 2K has revealed more details about the mode.

During the second Ringside Report for WWE 2K22, details about MyGM mode were shared. WWE Games Creative Director Lynell Jinks and Art Producer Christina Diem Pham returned to host this edition of the Ringside Report. The first detail about the mode that’s discussed is the playable general managers. They include Adam Pearce, Sonya Deville, Shane McMahon, and his sister Stephanie. Players also have the option to create a custom general manager instead.

There are four brands that can be run once a GM is selected. These shows are Raw, Smackdown, NXT, and NXT UK. GM mode starts off with a draft where the player and AI will select their show’s rosters using the limited amount of money they have. Each GM starts with a budget of 2,750,000. Each wrestler will have their own class. Putting classes against each other in matches can lead to better matches for your show.

Perhaps the biggest addition to the mode is the Power Card store. Power Cards can be used to boost the rating of your show, someone’s stamina, and the morale of your roster. Completing the commissioner goals given to you by Triple H can even grant you certain Power Cards.

If you get tired of just simulating all of your matches, you can also choose to act as a spectator. When this happens, your GM will accompany a wrestler to ringside, where you can cheer on the match or even interfere and make someone lose. When a match ends, you’re given a match report which gives a summary of the match that just happened. The report gives advice based on what went wrong and a match rating.

Depending on what happens in a match, this can lead to Dramas, which are conversations that can change a wrestler’s morale. If John Cena complains that he got hurt in a match, you can give a positive or negative response which may decrease his morale and make him want to quit.

MyGM mode can be played with a friend through local multiplayer so you and a friend can both experience managing a WWE roster. To view the full Ringside Report check it out on YouTube. WWE 2K22 will be released on March 8.
