SEN Sinatraa Suspended from Valorant for Six Months

SEN Sinatraa Suspended from Valorant for Six Months

Jay ‘Sinatraa’ Won has been suspended from any competitive Valorant activities for six months. The former Overwatch star was issued the punishment due to his alleged lack of cooperation when submitting evidence to Riot officials who were investigating any sexual abuse misconduct. According to Riot, the investigation thus far ‘did not come to a definitive conclusion on the underlying allegations.’ Riot has been informed that the proper authorities have been involved in the case and that Riot will defer to them for the duration of the situation.

This six-month penalty will cover the majority of the years’ remaining Valorant tournament, including the entire third round of NA Challengers and Masters. Sinatraa’s suspension will be lifted right before Last Chance Qualifiers for Champions at the end of the year, assuming the professional SEN player does not incur any more restrictions.

TenZ or Sinatraa?

At the beginning of the sexual abuse investigation, Sinatraa was indefinitely suspended, putting Sentinels in a tough spot. SEN signed TenZ to a temporary spot on the roster, which drew massive controversy from fans and competitors alike. Many viewed TenZ as a direct upgrade to Sinatraa and essentially catapulted Sentinels from a top-half team to THE top team.

Sinatraa’s influence on the game cannot be understated – from his Sova days, he has innovated ways to use recon darts and heavy machine guns. Team-wise, the veteran has multiple high placings in Overwatch and is no stranger to leading and maintaining a team environment. However, from this point on, Sentinels will have a tough choice to make when choosing to either buy out TenZ from Cloud9 or hope for the best regarding Sinatraa’s investigation.
