Pokemon GO: Cotton-Winged Bird Special Research Tasks and Rewards

Pokemon GO’s May Community Day event kicks off on May 15, featuring Swablu, the Flying- and Normal-type Pokemon. Throughout the event duration, players can encounter more Swablu in the wild, and if they’re lucky, they can even find a Shiny Swablu. Evolving Swablu into Altaria during the event and up to two hours after will grant a special attack: Moonblast. The Swablu Community Day event begins on May 15, 2021, from 11 am to 5 pm local time. Trainers can pick up the Cotton-Winged Bird Ticket ($0.99) now to access the Cotton-Winged Bird Special Research on May 15, 2021. As always, you must play during the specified time to receive all the special event bonuses.

Look out for Mega Altaria making its Pokémon GO debut in Mega Raids, too! Collect Mega Altaria Energy to Mega-Evolve any of the Altaria you’ve collected during Community Day!

Pokemon GO: Cotton-Winged Bird Special Research Tasks and Rewards

Here are the Cotton-Winged Bird Special Research tasks and rewards:

Task 1

• Power up Pokemon 10 times: 15 Poke Balls
• Catch 15 Swablu: Swablu encounter
• Make 10 Nice Throws: Pinap Berry x10
• Rewards: 2,000 Stardust, Swablu encounter, Incense

Task 2

• Catch 15 Swablu: 100 Swablu candy
• Transfer 10 Pokemon: 1,000 Stardust
• Use 15 Pinap berries while catching Pokemon: Great Balls x15
• Rewards: 1,500 XP, Snivy Encounter, Incense

Task 3

• Make 3 Great Curveball Throws:100 Swablu candy
• Evolve 1 Swablu: 1 Egg Incubator
• Transfer 10 Pokemon: 100 Swablu Candy
• Rewards: 2,500 XP, Rocket Radar, Ultra Balls x15

Task 4

• Claim reward: Silver Pinap Berry x3, Swablu Encounter, 3500 XP
• Rewards: 3,000 Stardust, Altaria Encounter, Rare Candy x3

• Swablu will appear more frequently in the wild. If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!
• Evolve Swablu during the event or up to two hours afterward to get an Altaria that knows the attack Moonblast.
