Blizzard just dropped a new Warcraft 3 Reforged PTR (Public Test Realm) patch, marked 1.35, with the intent to fix some old bugs but introduce some new features and balances as well. Everyone thought that the video game giant dropped the game until patches started arriving in 2022.
The 1.35 patch, although still in the testing phase, looks promising for the future of the game and shows us that Blizzard hasn’t given up on one of its old classics. If you want to join the PTR and try out some of these patch changes before their official arrival, all you have to do is go to your Battle.net app, select Warcraft 3 Reforged, and in the Game Version section select Public Test Realm and install it.
In this article, we won’t be going through every detail of the patch, but we will instead be showcasing updates we believe are vital.
New features in Patch 1.35
The biggest feature announced for 1.35 will certainly be Custom Campaigns. Yes, players will now be able to create their own campaigns and others will get to play them. This feature update also brings in fixes for the campaign, menus, and some graphical fixes and add-ons with the aim to make the whole campaign experience smoother.

New Fixes in Patch 1.35
Since Warcraft 3 Reforged has been plagued with bugs and random crashes from the strt, users have been reporting them regularly. With time, more and more of these bugs were fixed, and 1.35 is continuing that trend. Most importantly, some bugs with leaderboards and clans were fixed that omitted the multiplayer experience. Fixes for occasional crashes and loading problems were also resolved and according to users’ comments on the Blizzard forum, the fixes in general were welcomed as a solid update.
New Race Balances in Patch 1.35
When it comes to particular races and their balances, there’s been a fair amount of small updates and an occasional bigger one. First of all, all races got gold cost reduced for altar heroes. This is a big deal, considering that it will have an impact on the early-game economy.
Humans have seen interesting updates. Alongside minor mana, damage, and gold/lumber nerfs and buffs, the Siege Engine unit got changed quite a bit. It can now attack units and has received some general back-and-forth changes which show us that Blizzard has something special in store for it. Most notably, some units got their HP boosted while some spells got their cooldowns increased as well.
When Orcs are concerned, Witch Doctors and Blademaster are the biggest winners here. Doctors got their healing ward’s HP increased from 5 HP to 10 HP while the Blademaster’s Mirror images now deal 25% of his base damage and his Bladestorm CD is decreased by a third (120 secs now). This is really important since Blademaster spawns more Mirror images with each level, allowing him to scale greatly. Besides these updates, a couple of Orc units got small buffs and nerfs as well.
Night Elf race got their balances right in their heroes’ faces. Keeper of the Grove’s Thorn Aura, Entangle and Tranquility got changed, with heavy nerf on the latter – the CD got doubled from 60 to 120 secs. Priestess of the Moon and Demon Hunter got their Starfall and Immolation spells changed so keep an eye on future changes in those. Minor updates on some units as well.
Undead had their Lich’s Frost Nova damage nerfed which is something that users asked for in the past. Its damage was the strongest on level 1 and it does AoE damage. Death Knight received some minor tweaks alongside some units as well, but nothing game-changing.
