How to join the SYNCED Open Beta

You'll be fighting techno-creatures and exploring the Meridian in no time!

Open betas for games provide developers with much needed feedback from their growing community. Developers at NEXT Studios have opted to take an open beta approach with their newest game SYNCED. An online agent-based looter-shooter that aims to have a mix of Fortnite with Destiny. The game offers two separate modes. One where you are placed against teams of 3 people with the goal of defeating Nanos while taking down other enemy teams. Nanos are the games main NPC enemies that when defeated, players can synchronize with them in order to make their companions stronger. The key difference between SYNCED and other games is that those Nanos are actually your companions. Almost acting like Pokémon, companion Nanos can be sent out from your character to defend a position, or directly attack an enemy you see.

Without ruining the entire open beta, players will be treated to a mix between the PvP and PvE modes. The more PvP you take place in, the higher your power level gets, and the more PvE mission you can participate in. Let’s jump in and find out how to join the SYNCED open beta.

As of right now, the game is limited to PC only players, specifically on Steam only. In order to join the SYNCED open beta, you will need to have a Steam account. Once you log in to steam make your way to the store page for SYNCED. From there, there will be an option to wish-list the game, and to request access to the open beta. This is normally how open betas work for games releasing on Steam. It could be due to the fact that developers are trying to weed out random bots who fill up their server space. It could be for a completely different reason. Either way, players will want to go ahead and request access to the open beta.

Some games that require you to request access to their betas might not automatically let you join. Thankfully, simply by requesting access, players will be immediately accepted in the SYNCED open beta.

The open beta lasts from December 10th to January 15th. Giving players adequate amount of time to try the game out for themselves. From all corners of the internet, gamers have been complaining of the lack of new and interesting games being released. Whether that sentiment is really true, or if the people complaining are thinking a bit narrow minded when it comes to games, clearly there are developers trying new things. NEXT Studios hasn’t been around for too long having been founded in 2017. However, they’ve been plugging away releasing game after game since their inception. It will be interesting to see if this game finally bridges the gap for players who enjoy PvP and players who like PvE modes more.
