Slime Rancher 2 is the sequel of the incredibly cute slime wrangling simulator. Along your journey in the Rainbow Islands will be slimes, resources, food, and the hard-to-miss, larger-than-life Gordos that sit contentedly, smiling away. These squishy behemoths are, unfortunately for them, in your way. But how can you move such a force of nature? You can’t. But you can deal with them. Here’s how to get rid of Gordos in Slime Rancher 2.
How to pop Gordos in Slime Rancher 2
That’s right. Pop. The only way to get through to a slime is through its stomach. That’s also the only way to get through a slime, too. Gordos are those giant slimes that smile away, watching the world go by and, like in the first game, will always be unwittingly guarding something valuable to you. There are some Gordos you simply must pop, and others that would benefit you if you did, but aren’t totally necessary.
When you stumble across a Gordo, it is worth to quickly feed it something it can eat, as then the giant will be marked on your map so you can return to it later.
The only way to pop a Gordo is through overfeeding it. Slimes have a hard time saying no to food, and the same goes for the Gordos. Every Gordo will be a giant version of a regular slime. This means that they will share in the dietary factors of the source slime.

So, collect lots of the food that the Gordo can eat and shoot it directly into the Gordo’s mouth. It will eat the digestible food instantly. If you feed the Gordo its favourite food, then it will fill faster. You are going to want at least 50 food to fully feed an average Gordo (25 if you feed exclusively its favourite food).
Once the Gordo has eaten enough, it will look fit to burst.
It will then explode into smaller slimes and unblock your path, reveal something useful, or assist in your journey.
WHenever you stumble across a Gordo, make it one of your priorities in getting it fed. You’ll never know what it’ll uncover!
