What Should You Use Soul of the Crafter On in Final Fantasy 14 & What Does It Do?

Crafters unite with the Soul of the Crafter!

Final Fantasy 14 is an incredibly popular MMO developed and published by Square Enix. It garnered huge popularity after their fantastic expansion pack Endwalker released. It has a wonderful community, can be enjoyed without having to break the bank, and it introduces numerous classes you can level up to become the best. While you’re leveling up those skills you’ll be introduced to certain items to help you on your journey. Soul of the Crafter is an item that helps crafters and we’re going to tell you how it can help.

What is Soul of the Crafter in FFXIV?

FFXIV has plenty of professions that all are unique and fun to explore on your own. You can fish, craft, become an extraordinary chef, and explore the world mining its rich resources. Crafting doesn’t just consist of one skill. When you pick up a crafting class you have the choice to choose from 8 different classes, also known as, the Disciple’s of the Hand (DoH). These classes are:

  • Carpenter
  • Blacksmith
  • Goldsmith
  • Leatherworker
  • Weaver
  • Alchemist
  • Culinarian
  • Armorer

Once you have hit level 55 in your any of these Disciple’s of Hand (DoH) jobs you need to head to Revenant’s Toll and complete a quest called “Beloved of the Builder” Finishing the quest will reward you three Soul of the Crafter. Once you acquire these stones they will allow you to become a specialist in your chosen profession.

How to use Soul of the Crafter in FFXIV?

Now that you have Soul of the Crafter you’re going to want to use it to help boost your stats. You can pick three jobs you want to use the Soul of the Crafter. Once you equip the crystals you can use an action called “Careful Observation” which will basically mean you don’t have to do anything in the next step. This is incredibly helpful when you’re trying to create a high quality item. High quality items means more money on the players market. When you’re crafting you use up your durability, so using the Soul of the Crafter, will help to preserve any action.

Can I Switch What I specialize in?

Thankfully, you can collect multiple Soul of the Crafter stones. The only issue is that you can only carry three at once. There’s absolutely no limit on how many times you can switch to another class to specialize in. Good news is if you have all these stones and don’t really need them anymore you can trade them in to Alderan in Ishgard for 480 yellow scrips. In order to snag multiple Soul of the Crafter stones you’re going to need to take park in the Firament or use crafter scrips.

The next time you’re thinking about finding ways to boost your crafting skills on FFXIV try using the Soul of the Crafter. It doesn’t take long to acquire and it’s an easy way to get a small boost in your stats or an easy way to make currency through the crafter scrips.
