How to Get the True Ending in Sifu

How to Get the True Ending in Sifu

Revenge is often an extremely fleeting pleasure. Yeah, you’ll probably feel good about it for a few minutes, but eventually, you’ll realize that you haven’t really attained anything. As the old saying goes, an eye-for-eye and a tooth-for-tooth leaves the world blind and toothless. While vengeance may be the Student’s primary motivator in Sifu, there is another way. There is always another way. Here’s how to get the true ending in Sifu.

After you kill all four members of Yang’s gang, followed by Yang himself in the Sanctuary, you’ll get a rather unsatisfying ending. This is because, while the method may not be immediately apparent, you actually need to spare every member of the gang, including Yang, in order to realize the true meaning of Wude, or “martial morality,” and see the game’s true ending.

How to Get the True Ending in Sifu

Sparring the bosses is actually very simple. All you need to do is fight them as normal until their Structure meters run out in their second phases and they’re open for a takedown. Instead of finishing them, however, you need to back off and let them regain their footing. Their Structure will still be nearly broken, so just smack them around a few more times to leave them vulnerable again. At this point, you’ll get a new prompt to spare the boss rather than finish them off. Do so, and the Student will walk away.

Each spared boss will earn you one of four elemental talismans:

  • Fajar: Wood Talisman
  • Sean: Fire Talisman
  • Kuroki: Water Talisman
  • Jinfeng: Metal Talisman

You will need to have these four talismans unlocked before you get to Yang’s room in the Sanctuary. There are lights on the walls in the prior room that will shine if you have their respective talismans unlocked. Once you’ve got the talismans, fight Yang as normal until you get the chance to spare him like the others. You’ll still have to do his third phase afterward, but if you beat him, you’ll unlock the final talisman, the Earth Talisman, which in turn will reveal the game’s true ending to you.
