How to Save in Scarlet Nexus

Sometimes I wish there was just a universally accepted means of saving your progress in a video game. One button in the pause menu, one shiny book in the overworld. Sadly, life is rarely so accommodating, so for every game we play, we have to relearn saving systems. It just be like that sometimes. Here’s how to save in Scarlet Nexus.

As opposed to some JRPGs where your means of saving takes the form of a big, glowy circle on the ground or something, Scarlet Nexus’ means of saving isn’t quite as overt. For one thing, rather than an inanimate object, your source of saving is a person: Satori the Archivist.

How to Save in Scarlet Nexus

Satori appears around the world, offering saving services for your convenience. You’ll know him when you see him; he’s wearing a bright, neon yellow suit of armor, and is accompanied by a golf cart in an equally blinding shade of yellow. Just strike up a chat with him and you can save your progress. Satori’s cart also functions as an item shop, as well as a place to redeem DLC items if you’ve purchased any. Whenever you find Satori, his presence will be recorded on your world map with a floppy disk icon.

Aside from speaking with Satori, your progress will also be saved automatically after major story beats. Remember, though: there’s only one autosave slot, while saving with Satori gets you multiple save slots. If you want to play through both of the protagonists’ stories concurrently, you can save their progress in two separate save slots, but whoever you played with last will overwrite the autosave slot. This is why, if you want to stop playing, it’s best to check in with Satori before turning the game off.
